This was our first photoshop assignment that let us truly explore all of the features of photoshop such as the stamp tool, the paint tool, and the select tool. We took a photo of a car, and photoshopped out the background, fixed any light reflections, and tinted the windows. Original My Photoshop product
I struggled a bit with this project because I had a hard time finding the different controls, but overall this project was a very beneficial introduction to photoshop.

For my first photo assignment, I went to the Gilmore Car Museum to take pictures of an event. My goal was to take Photos of the event that reflect the purpose of the event, yet don't tell the whole story, and to leave the audience wondering. My photo setting for my best picture are an ISO of 800, Aperture of 5.6, and Shutter Speed of 1/60th of a second. Overall I enjoyed this assignment, especially because the event that I chose had pretty bad lighting, so that was a big obstacle for me to go around, but in the end it helped me have a better understanding of my camera settings.
For this assignment, we had to take a photo in photo booth, and photoshop it to this effect. First we started with unsharpening the mask, and then we had to adjust the threshold for a black and white effect. We created the pop art by taking four copies of the black and white photo, and placing them in a 2x2 grid. Then to get the separated colors we had to adjust the hue, saturation, and lightness of each copy of the original photo. The purpose of this assignment was to get a greater understanding for simple photoshop features.
For this first composition assignment we were given a few days to learn about 11 different compositional photo techniques and then take 11 different photos, each one reflecting one of the techniques. Here is an example of each compositional technique we used; Rule of Thirds Pattern Symmetry Texture Depth of Field Lines Framing Perspective Space Balance Color
During this project I learned how to make certain colors pop against a background, I learned how to make my subjects stand out more using space, framing, and lines, and I also learned how to blend backgrounds out of the photo using depth of field and perspective. This assignment helped me take higher quality and more aesthetically pleasing photos. My name is Annie Jenkins and I'm a freshman at Saline High School. I have one brother, Ray, my mom, Christi, my dad, Bob, and my two dogs Tully and Saidee. Most of my interests/Hobbies include Dance/Theatre, Interior Design, Athletics, and Music. One of my biggest interests is Photography. I took this digital photography class for many reasons, one of them being that I have had a bit of experience with darkroom photography, but not a lot with digital. I've had a pretty high quality DSLR camera for a while now, and really wanted to learn more advanced techniques for photography with this camera.
